“It was actually starting to train for the Edinburgh Marathon that made me realise I really needed to get fit. At first I struggled to run a mile without stopping and being out of breath.
My general fitness had gone downhill after having my daughter in November 2016. Until then I’d used a local gym, just doing the usual resistance machines and dumbbell curls, but I had no idea what I was doing and I did the same thing every night. Even that stopped once the baby arrived though.
